I've had my GHD straighteners for almost 3 years and cannot live without them as my hair was frizzy and unruly before. I use them 1-2 times a week but they caught fire at the cable end even though I took great care not to bend the cable back when I stored them and there was no indication whatsoever that the cable was broken inside its plastic housing. I burnt my fingers and my hair now looks straw-like. However, it won't deter me from buying some more, I'll just replace them after 2 years next time.

The GHD is really much better. I highly recommend this appliance to those who have curly, frizzy hair and want to wear it smooth and straight. This is the first straightener that allows me to get this look at home. Because of the round ceramic barrel, it also works well as a curling iron....
