I have had several straightners over the years, but the GHD is definately the best. It doesn't pull your hair and the plates are completley smooth. Heats up much quicker than other brands of straightners and turns itself off if it has been left unused for too long, so there is no chance of accidentally leaving it on. Very long swivel cord. It is expensive (I paid around $330 including a heatproof bag and a couple of sample sizes of their products) but does work a lot better and holds the style longer than any other brand I have ever used.

The GHD still seems to be the best straightener on the market today. I have the smallest version and it is great - heats up quickly and takes no time at all to straighten my hair, which means less damage from exposing it to heat. It also seems to de-frizz my hair which is excellent. No annoying pulling on individual strands of hair which I occassionally experienced with my previous straightener. It is small and compact, easy to take to a girlfriend's house or when travelling. It can also be used for curling and styling due to its slim size which makes it very versatile. The only con is the price but as long as it lasts it is worth it in my opinion.

I bought my first set of ghds 5 years ago and have never looked back. In 5 years of daily use i have never had a problem, just years of smooth straight hair! in the last few weeks the straighteners have become slightly temperamental, occasionally switching themselves off, but i think i have well had ...
